Have You Heard About Microchanneling? Let Us Tell You About It!
In September, the Urban Oasis Day Spa team will begin offering a new treatment we know you’ll love! It’s called Microchanneling – and if you’ve never heard of it, we’d like to tell you all about it.
First, let’s dive into this cutting-edge technology and how it was developed, and then we’ll discuss the benefits, process, and other facts you’ll need to know.
What Is Microchanneling, And How Was It Developed?
Here are some Microchanneling facts:
- What is Microchanneling? Procell Microchanneling is a procedure that punctures thousands of tiny holes – micro-channels – into your skin to generate collagen production. These tiny holes are ideal for soaking up the ProCell stem cell serum, an innovative technology that helps promote collagen and elastin growth. The collagen and elastin thicken and restore the skin to improve the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, rosacea, and more.
- How does the Microchanneling Treatment stimulate cellular activity? One single treatment creates hundreds of thousands of microchannels, and in response to each micro-injury, an inflammatory healing process begins, initiating the formation of new collagen. This repeated healing process improves the surface texture and the skin’s overall appearance over time.
- How was it developed? Dr. Mitchell Schwartz founded Procell Therapies in 2013 with a bold vision. During his 30+ years as a practicing dermatologist, he observed the limitations and damage caused by other anti-aging systems. Dr. Schwartz realized that with some engineering and ingenuity, he could provide better results in a safe and non-invasive way.
What Should I Know About My Microchanneling Treatment Session?
For your first Microchanneling Treatment session, you should know the following:
- Microchanneling treatments improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, stretch marks, and rosacea.
- Most clients can do the procedure without numbing cream or any noticeable pain and with minimal physical discomfort. There is no lingering discomfort, and we employ several strategies to minimize any discomfort during your treatment. Most people will describe a “tight” feeling in their skin post-procedure.
- Though neocollagenesis (the production of new collagen) can take several weeks, it is not uncommon for clients to notice an improvement in the quality and appearance of their skin within the first 24 hours. After 2-3 treatments, a more robust, collagen-filled cellular matrix will produce more consistent and noticeable improvement, while we may recommend six or more treatments for scarring, laxity, and wrinkles.
- If you have any underlying conditions that significantly impair your immune system, such as uncontrolled diabetes, hemophilia (or any similar bleeding disorder), chronic inflammatory skin disease, or if you are undergoing active radiation or chemotherapy, we recommend that you avoid microchanneling. In addition, anyone with allergies to stainless steel should not do this treatment. We also discourage treatments for those who are nursing or pregnant.
